Establish prayer and give alms.” Afterward, you turned away, except a few of you, and you were averse. (Quran 2:83) They are not all alike; among the people of the Book there is an upstanding community. They recite God’s revelations through the night, and they fall prostrate. They believe in God and the last day. They advocate good and forbid evil, and they hasten to do good works. These are among the righteous. Whatever good they do will not be denied. God knows those who are reverent. (Qur’an 3:113-115).
