Forced Marriages

The Prophet’s (Salla Allah Alaihe waslm) wife ‘Aishah reported that a young female came to consult the Prophet (Salla Allah Alaihe waslm), saying, “My father has married me to my cousin to raise his social standing and I was forced into it.” The Prophet (Salla Allah Alaihe waslm) sent for the girl’s father and then in his presence gave the girl the option of remaining married or nullifying the marriage. She responded; “O Messenger of Allah, I have accepted what my father did, but I wanted to serve a lesson to other women (that they could not be forced into a marriage).” recorded by Bukhari, and Ibn Majah, "Khansa bint Khidhan who had a previous marriage, related that when her father married her and she disapproved of that, she went to the Messenger of God and he revoked her marriage." Abu Da'ud, on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas recorded that "A [girl who was not married] came to the Messenger of God and mentioned that her father had married her against her will, so the Prophet (Salla Allah Alaihe waslm) allowed her to exercise her choice."

Origins of the immigrants Regents Park Mosque

Origins of the immigrants Regents Park Mosque,London Muslims in Europe have a direct relationship to the colonial period. The UK ruled South Asia (British India), and therefore most of its Muslim immigrants tend to be from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Moroccans and Algerians drifted to France (they are about six to 10 million Muslims now in France). Because Germany and Turkey had a relationship going back to the First World War, Turks went to Germany (most of Germany's one and a half million Muslims are Turks). The Netherlands has about half a million Muslims who are mostly from Surinam. In Portugal most Muslims are from the former colonies in India or southern France; in Spain they are from Morocco or Algeria. In Italy, where there are estimated to be about 200,000 Muslims, they are mostly from Libya.

Search of Knowledge

Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion. (Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Knowledge (Kitab Al-Ilm), Book 25, Number 3634)"

Muslim woman is accorded full spiritual and intellectual equality with man

The Muslim woman is accorded full spiritual and intellectual equality with man, and is encouraged to practice her religion and develop her intellectual faculties throughout her life. In her relations with men both are to observe modesty of behavior and dress and a strict code of morality which discourages unnecessary mixing of the sexes. Her relations with her husband should be based on mutual love and compassion. He is responsible for the maintenance of the wife and children, and she is to give him the respect due to the head of the family. She is responsible for the care of home and the children's early training. She may own her own property, run her own business and inherit in her own right. She may not be married without being consulted and is able to obtain divorce.

Story of two women

One day, HOLY PROPHET (SAW) told his companion the story of two women: " A prostitute was guided by God's truth and ultimately went to paradise because she gave water to a dog dying of thirst in the desert" (Bukhari, "Anbiya'," 54; Muslim, "Salam," 153). And for the other women, Allah's Apostle said, "A woman was tortured and was put in Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked till it died of hunger." Allah's Apostle further said, (Allah knows better) Allah said (to the woman), 'You neither fed it nor watered when you locked it up, nor did you set it free to eat the insects of the earth." Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 40, Number 553

A childless

A childless 55-year-old Muslim furniture shop owner adopted a Hindu Brahmin’s daughter 18 years ago, brought her up as a Hindu, Muslim parents marry adopted Hindu girl to Hindu groom. (TOI) And, as they bid a tearful farewell to Gudiya, now called Rakhi, who hung on to the couple as though she would never leave, the neighbors and invitees were amazed at the intensity of the bond between parents and child. Many Politician claim that Muslims forced Islam on the people of India.. Its amazing Muslims ruled India for 1000 years.. and Still they were called Minority in India during British Empire. Allah says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]

Know Your God A Quick Introduction To Islam...

The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that God revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God, thus all human beings should submit to Him.

Prophet's Hadiths repeatedly emphasizes the acquirement of education and knowledge for every Muslim male and female. For example, one Hadith states that, " Seeking knowledge is a duty of every Muslim, man or woman." (Ayisha Lemu 1978: 25). Another Hadith states, " Seek knowledge from the cradle to grave." (1978:25). Another Hadith states that, " The Father, if he educates his daughter well, will enter Paradise." (The World Bank Report July 9, 1993: 25). Yet another Hadith states that, " A mother is a school. If she is educated, then a whole people are educated" (1993: 25). In Islam Knowledge means both Knowledge of Religion and knowledge of Science of Worlds. This break the illusion that Muslims dont allow there females for Educaiton.

Woman enjoys certain privileges of which man is deprived

She is exempt from some religious duties, i.e., prayers and fasting, in her regular periods and at times of confinement. She is exempt from all financial liabilities. As a mother, she enjoys more recognition and higher honor in the sight of God (Q31:14-15;46:15). The Prophet acknowledged this honor when he declared that Paradise is under the feet of the mothers. She is entitled to three-fourths of the son's love and kindness with one-fourth left for their father. As a wife she is entitled to demand of her prospective husband a suitable dowry that will be her own. She is entitled to complete provision and total maintenance by the husband. She does not have to work or share with her husband the family expenses. She is free to retain, after marriage, whatever she possessed before it, and the husband has no right whatsoever to any of her belongings. As a daughter or sister she is entitled to security and provision by the father and brother respectively.

A Malay Couple Marriage in Islam

Islam, unlike other religions is a strong advocate of marriage. There is no place for celibacy like, for example the Roman Catholic priests and nuns. The prophet (pbuh) has said "there is no celibacy in Islam. Marriage is a religious duty and is consequently a moral safeguard as well as a social necessity. Islam does not equal celibacy with high "taqwa" / "Iman". The prophet has also said, "Marriage is my tradition who so ever keeps away there from is not from amongst me". Marriage acts as an outlet for sexual needs and regulate it so one does not become a slave to his/ her desires. It is a social necessity because through marriage, families are established and the family is the fundamental unit of our society. Furthermore, marriage is the only legitimate or halal way to indulge in intimacy between a man and a woman.

Justin Valanzola and Sarah Boyle

Husband and wife Justin Valanzola and Sarah Boyle, with cats CB and Archie, read the Quran soon after getting home from work. The couple converted to Islam while attending the university. On the last day of Ramadan in December 2001, Justin Valanzola came home after services at a local mosque, having just accepted Islam, and poured $300 worth of alcohol from his liquor cabinet down the drain. Alcohol and partying were two of the things he decided he didn't need anymore - the College of Education graduate student had found something else: religion. The men and women of the believers are friends of one another. They command what is right and forbid what is wrong, and establish prayer and pay alms, and obey Allah and His Messenger. They are the people on whom Allah will have mercy. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise. (Koran, 9:71)

A Saleswomen in a Showroom in Saudi Arabia

Islamic way of life can be summarised in three words 1) Din (religion), 2) Dunya (Community), 3) Dawla (State / Society). Islamic Shariah covers all of these three aspects. From Islamic point of view, life is a unity. It cannot be divided into watertight compartments. Islamic Shariah gives directions to all aspects of life in their entirety. Islamic Shariah is a complete scheme of life and an all-embracing social order where nothing is superfluous and nothing lacking. Therefore there is no 1 separation between state and church. Islamic State is not a theocratic state. Secularism, in Muslims view, destroys the transcendence of all moral values. In Qur’anic words “those who forget God eventually forget themselves” (59:19) and their individual and corporate personalities disintegrate. Thus, Islam is considered the way of life in which, through voluntary submission to God, human beings find peace with themselves and their environment.

Husbands & Wifes

The wifes rights - the Husbands obligations. Maintenance The husband is responsible for the wifes maintenance. This right is established by authority of the Qur'an and the sunnah. It is inconsequen tial whether the wife is a Muslim , non-Muslim, rich, poor, healthy or sick. A component of his role as "qawam" (leader) is to bear the financial responsibility of the family in a generous way so that his wife may be assured security and thus perform her role devotedly. The wifes maintenance entails her right to lodging, clothing, food and general care, like medication, hospital bills etc. He must lodge her where he resides himself according to his means. The wifes lodge must be adequate so as to ensure her privacy, comfort and independence. If a wife has been used to a maid or is unable to attend to her household duties, it is the husbands duty to provide her with a maid if he can afford to do so. The prophet is reported to have said: The best Muslim is one who is the best husband.

Social Justice in Islam

1. In ancient times, it was unthinkable for a girl of noble birth or even of any free person, to be married to a slave. The Prophet, wishing to break with this tradition, decided to arrange a marriage between his own first cousin, Zaynab bint Jahash (d. 20 AH), who belonged to the Banu Hashim, the most respectable clan of the Quraysh tribe, and Zayd ibn Haritha, a black Negro slave. This most extraordinary event served as an important example of Islamic justice. 2. The Ka'aba, the most holy place of worship, was considered sacrosanct in all its parts. Therefore, when the call to prayer had to be made from its roof, it was only a person of noble birth who could ascend it. A man of lowly birth performing this religious duty was not be countenanced. After the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet broke with this tradition by asking a Negro slave, Bilal ibn Rubah to go up on to the roof of the Ka'aba and give the call to prayer (Azan).

Irans Women Police

The Quran says: The most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the one who is more obedient to the laws of Allah Almighty. (49/13) Most of the people attach more importance to boys as compared with the girls and men are considered superior to women. This is a bad thing. According to the Holy Quran men and women are all human beings, equal to each other by birth and equally worth of respect. As said earlier, the criterion of respect and of being high or low among all human beings, men as well as women is the quality of their deeds. Allah has said: We have honoured humanity as a whole. (17/70)

In Europe

According to a European Council report, in the year 2007, 583 failed, foiled and successful terrorist acts took place. Out of that four were attributed to Islamists, 21 to left wing, 1 to right wing, and 532 to separatists. How come we never heard of those terror acts committed by separatists? How come there was little analysis of those acts? How come the Western intellectuals are silent on such terror related incidents? http://www.islamicity.com/articles/Articles.asp?ref=IC0903-3828

Indian Spice Trader

INDIAN SPICE TRADER Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The swearing (by the seller) may persuade the buyer to purchase the goods but that will be deprived of Allah's blessing." Bukhari :: Book 3 :: Volume 34 :: Hadith 301 Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abu Aufa: A man displayed some goods in the market and swore by Allah that he had been offered so much for that, that which was not offered, and he said so, so as to cheat a Muslim. On that occasion the following Verse was revealed: "Verily! Those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths (They shall have no portion in the Hereafter ..etc.)' (3.77)

Church Nuns Looks Like Muslim Sisters

[24:30-31] Say to the believing man that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them; and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands... CHURCH NUNS LOOKS LIKE MUSLIM SISTERS.

The Supreme Being.....

The Supreme Being has created the male strong of body in order that he may go out and earn his livelihood, even in difficult circumstances. This is so that he may serve the women and children of his family. As for the woman, she has been created gentle, soft and sensitive, so that she may cultivate the future generations. The man goes out and works with the natural elements, while the woman deals with the human being (raising the children). The woman is allowed to work in any occupation, which she is capable of, as long as it is in consonance with the nature of her delicate physique. The woman is excused from certain religious ceremonies and obligations during her post-child birth and menstrual periods, since these conditions are a cause of weakness and hence, she is in need of rest and relaxation.

Good manners

Good manners and noble qualities of mind and character enjoy a place of crucial importance in the structure of Islamic teaching. Moral evolution and uplift was one of the main objects for which the sacred Prophet was raised up. Traditions of the Prophet: “The best of you are those who possess the best manners.” “On the Day of Recompense nearest to me will be one who displays in one’s daily life the best of manners.” “On the Day of Reckoning the most weighty item in the ‘Balance of Deeds’ will be good manners.”

In Islam, every person is held responsible for his or her acts

In Islam, every person is held responsible for his or her acts. And the reward for good acts and the punishment for evil acts, if unrewarded or punished while on this earth, will be meted out accordingly in the Hereafter on the Day of Judgement. With Allah's Mercy and Compassion, sins committed through irreligious acts, could be pardoned by Allah alone through seeking His forgiveness and executing sincere repentance. IN ISLAM NO BODY CAN BE PUNISHED FOR OTHER PERSONS SIN.. BUT THE INDIVIDUAL IS RESPONSIBLE ITSELF.

Women have the same rights

"Women have the same rights (in relation to their husbands) as are expected in all decency from them, while men stand a step above them." Sura 2:228. There is no restriction in Islamic law that says a woman cannot work or have a profession, that her only place is in the home. In fact, by definition, in a truly Islamic society, there must be women physicians, women nurses, women teachers, because it's preferable also to separate teenagers in the volatile years in high school education. And if she chooses to work, or if she's married with the consent of her husband, she's entitled to equal pay, not for equal work, but for work of equal worth.

Islam teaches us to respect all living things

Islam teaches us to respect all living things. It enjoins kindness to animals. Animals, just like people, are entitled to receive charity. Once a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): Is there a reward for the charity that we give to animals? He answered: "For every being possessing a moist liver, there is a reward." [Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] The Prophet (peace be upon him) told us of a prostitute who earned Allah’s forgiveness for showing mercy to a dog. She had found it panting and swallowing up dirt out of severe thirst, so she went down to a well and filled her sock with water and gave it to the dog to drink. Allah was grateful to this woman and rewarded her with Paradise. [Sahîh al-Bukhârî] Likewise, the Prophet (peace be upon him) informs us of how a woman earned Allah’s wrath for her mistreatment of a cat. She entered the Hellfire on account of a cat that she imprisoned, neither feeding it nor letting it hunt for food. [Sahîh al-Bukhârî]

Righteous Child

When the parents leave a righteous child behind them, the child will be a source of reward and blessing for them after their death, for Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end, except for three cases; the charity of continuous blessings, beneficial knowledge which he leaves behind and a righteous child who prays for him." [Saheeh Muslim]

The arrogance and racial...

The Holy Prophet Said in his Last Sermon.. "The arrogance and racial pride of the heathen days has been wiped out by God today. All human beings are descended from Adam, and Adam was made of clay." He recited the following verse of the Quran: "0 human beings! We have indeed created you of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Surely the most honorable of you with God is the one among you who is most deeply conscious of Him. Surely, God is Knowing, Aware. (The Quran, 49:13)

In Islam Man is head of his Family

IN ISLAM MAN IS HEAD OF HIS FAMILY AND WILL BE ASKED ABOUT DEEDS OF HIS FAMILY IF HE DONT WARN THEM ...."O you who have believed, save yourselves and you families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels, stern (and) severe, who do not disobey Allah in what He orders them and (who) do (precisely) what they are commanded." [Qur'an, Surah At-Tahrim 66 -6]

Chastity Quranic Verses:

{Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keeps them selves chaste, until Allah gives them means out of His grace.} 024.033 Prophetic Hadiths: Abdullah Ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports the Prophet (peace be upon him) to have said, {O you young people! Whoever can afford marriage should marry (1) for that will help him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse, etc) Whoever, is not able to marry is recommended to fast, as fasting diminishes (his) sexual power} Narrated by Al Bukhari and Muslims}
