9/11 Attacks

The very word Islam, which means "surrender," is related to the Arabic salam, or peace. When the Prophet Muhammad brought the inspired scripture known as the Koran to the Arabs in the early 7th century A.D., a major part of his mission was devoted precisely to bringing an end to the kind of mass slaughter we witnessed in New York City and Washington. The 9/11 attacks are still a mystery of Americans and Christains itself, as large number of Americans it self say its and inside Job of USA and a film Farenhiet was made by leading Director Steven Spielgerg.

Family

Islam builds a family in which prevails mutual respect and care. Parents and children in Islam are bound together by mutual obligations and reciprocal arrangements. Allaah Says : “…No mothr should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child…” [Quran 2: 233] The Quran has made it compulsory for the child to treat his parents with all goodness and mercy.

He made for you the night and day

O Muslims! The favours of Allaah upon His slaves cannot be enumerated. Among these favours is that He has created sleep, and He has created the night so that we may rest in it. Allaah, the Bestower of Favours, says that which translates as: “And [We] made your sleep [a means for] rest, And made the night as clothing.” (An-Naba’: 9-10) And also: “[He is] the cleaver of daybreak and has made the night for rest and the sun and moon for calculation. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.” (Al-An’aam: 96) During the night, people are calm and their bodies and minds are relaxed, which results in the required rest. Allaah created this time for people to unwind, calm down and rest in, and this is from His mercy. Allaah says that which translates as: “And out of His mercy He made for you the night and day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful.” (Al-Qasas: 73).

A good word is charity

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Every joint in a persons body has charity due upon it for every day that the Sun rises. It is an act of charity to bring reconciliation between two people. It is charity to help a man onto his horse. Likewise, to raise his luggage up to him is charity. A good word is charity. Every step taken on the way to prayer is charity. It is charity to remove an obstacle from the road.”

On the Day of Resurrection

“Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever is with Allaah (of good deeds) will remain” [al-Nahl 16:96] The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that every man will be shaded by his charity on the Day of Resurrection, the day on which the sun will be brought close to people’s heads until Allaah passes judgement between them.

The truthful and trusty businessman

Holy Prophet said :- 'The truthful and trusty businessman is associated with the prophets the saints, and the martyrs.' A Muslim woman trader sits at her silk store inside a market in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Thursday, May 31, 2007. Kelantan remains the only Malaysian state under the control of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS)

Smoking

Smoking involves consuming an evil substance. It has a noxious smell, a horrible taste and is harmful to the body. Allaah says: { He [the Prophet e] who will enjoin upon them the doing of what is right, forbid them from wrongdoing, make lawful to them the good things of life, forbid for them the evil things and lift from them their burdens and the shackles that were [formerly] upon them } (Soorah 7:157) Since it has become clear that smoking is harmful, it is obligatory upon all Muslims to abstain from it, for Allaah has said: { And do not kill yourselves, Allaah is indeed Merciful to you } (Soorah 4:29), and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said: "Let there be no harming and no reciprocating harm." (Narrated by Ahmad) He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam also said: "Whoever imbibes poison, killing himself with it, will be consuming his poison in the Hell-fire and will dwell therein eternally." (Narrated by Al-Bukhaari)

Islamic view of women

The Islamic view of women First of all, women are portrayed positively in the Qur'an and the Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). The Qur'an is the only book of world Scripture in which women are frequently referred to alongside men, and both are described as being friends and partners in faith. The following verses are just a few notable examples: The believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they promote the right and forbid the wrong, establish prayer, pay the poor-due, and they obey God and His messenger. As for these, God will have mercy on them. Surely God is Mighty, Wise. God has promised to believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of God: that is the supreme felicity. (Qur'an 9:71-72)

A Bangladeshi Mother With Her Child

Once a companion (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) as to whom he should show more kindness. The Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) replied: "Your mother." He (may Allah be pleased with him) asked who comes next and the Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) again replied: "Your mother." He (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) yet again who comes next. The Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) replied: “Your mother." When the companion asked for the fourth time, only then did the Prophet (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) reply: "Your father."

Righteous Child

When the parents leave a righteous child behind them, the child will be a source of reward and blessing for them after their death, for Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end, except for three cases; the charity of continuous blessings, beneficial knowledge which he leaves behind and a righteous child who prays for him." [Saheeh Muslim]

Daughters Of Islam

Before Islam having a female baby was a disgrace that it was acceptable if their fathers buried them alive, and there were no consequences for this heinous crime. However, when prophet Mohammad (PBUH) brought the message of Islam, that practice was abolished: "When the female (infant) buried alive is questioned for what crime she was killed" (Quran 81:8-9) Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: "Whosoever has a daughter and does not bury her alive, does not insult her, and does not favor his son over her, Allah will enter him into Paradise" (Ahmed) [1]

Indian Muslim woman Bilkis Yakub Rasool holds her son

Mohammad (L) AND husband Yakub (R). Bilkis, a housewife, was gangraped during the 2002 Gujarat riots when she was six months pregnant and also lost her three year old child, mother and two sisters. "Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allah?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allah is near!" (Al-Baqarah 2:214)

Islamic Headscarf

Asmahan (Azzy) Mansour of an Ottawa girls Soccer team, the Nepean Hotspurs, was told to remove her hijab, the Islamic headscarf, when a referee judged that it presented a danger to her or her fellow players. Her coach protested and pulled his team from the indoor tournament in the Montreal suburb of Laval -- a move that four other Ottawa teams imitated in solidarity.Hijaab of the Muslim woman is indeed part of modesty. Modesty accompanies Eemaan (faith). That is why Allaah's Messenger (sallallahu`alayhi wa sallam) said: "Modesty is part of Eemaan and Eemaan is in Paradise." [At-Tirmithi]. Also: "Modesty and Eemaan are companions, when one goes away the other one goes away." [Al-Haakim and others]

What right can any wife demand of her husband?

Mu`aawiyah Ibn Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “I asked the Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) "What right can any wife demand of her husband?'' He replied: “Give her food when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike her on the face, and do not revile her or separate from her except within the house.” [Abu Daawood]

Charity

Sa`d Ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said to him: “You will not spend anything in charity for the sake of Allaah except that you will be rewarded for it; even the morsel of food which you feed your wife.” [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]

Allah looks at your hearts and deeds

The messenger of Allah (saww) said: Allah (swt) does not look at your images and your wealth, but looks at your hearts and deeds. (Reported by Muslim). In Islam, the beauty and outer appearance are not Important. But God sees how much is the individual is afraid of him and how he carry his or her life.

True believers

Those (are the true believers) who, when they commit an evil deed, or wrong their souls, remember Allah, and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who but Allah forgives sins? They do not insist upon the sins they have committed, and they know (that Allah is forgiving)." (Qur'aan 3:135)

Backbiting and slandering are shame and disgrace

Backbiting and slandering are shame and disgrace. Their perpetrator is detested and he shall not have a noble death. Allah forbids these acts in His Book when He says, “O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, in deeds some suspicions are sins. And spy not neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah, verily, Allah is the one who accepts repentance, Most Merciful” (Al-Hujuraat 49: 12) Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said, “Do you know what backbiting is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He then said, “It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike.” Someone asked him, “But what if what I say is true?” The Messenger of Allah said, “If what you say about him is true, you are backbiting him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him.” (Muslim)

Control of Anger

In Surah ali-Imran, verse 134, people who control their anger are among those whom Allâh makes a promise to forgive and admit into Paradise. “Those who repress anger and are able to forgive. And Allâh loves those who do good.” The Prophet of Allâh, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said, “Strength is in the power to control oneself in anger, not in the size of the muscles.”

Appearance Beautiful

Allah says: "Your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses: no choice have they. SubhaanAllah! And far removed is He from the partners they ascribe [to Him]." [Soorah al-Qasas (28):68]. So it is from the wisdom of Allah that He has chosen to create some of us short, others tall, some fat, some thin, some dark-coloured, some light - all are beautiful and perfect in their own right. That is why we are taught from the Sunnah, the beautiful du'aa (supplication) that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, would say: "O Allah, as You have made my appearance beautiful, likewise make my character beautiful." (Allaahumma kamaa hassanta khalaqee fa hassin khuluqee). 5

Freshening as iced pure water

Prophet (peace be upon him) Muhammad says “The more you are in favor of others, the more you are beloved by Allah” as Allah says in the Quran “And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Allah loveth those who do good” (Al-Baqarah:195) The poet says also: Be a dear friend to all, whom you know, For all, you should be as freshening as iced pure water I really wonder for that man who pays money to buy slaves, while he can buy those who are free by being good to them, for those (who treat other well) find many to be in their help.

Betterment of women

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought changes for the betterment of women. Woman is recognised by Islam as a full and equal partner of man in the procreation of humankind. He is the father, she is the mother, and both are essential for life. Her role is no less vital than his. By this partnership she has an equal share in every aspect; she is entitled to equal rights; she undertakes equal responsibilities, and in her there are many qualities and so much humanity as there are In her partner.

If you loved someone

If you loved someone, or felt good feelings about him, don’t wait, just tell him at once. Regarding this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said “ If you felt the brotherly love of Islam towards any ,you should immediately go and tell him about your feelings.” He added “It is the way relations are to be strongly indicated”. Such love is to be blessed by Allah if it is for Allah’s sake, not for any other personal affairs such as seeking high position, money, fame etc…. Unless this love is for Allah’s sake, it is a fruitless kind of brotherhood then. When they meet each other on the Day of Judgement, they are not brothers any more but enemies, as Allah says in the Quran “ Friends on that Day will be foes, one to another; except the Righteous.” (Az-Zukhruf: 67)

Malcolm X

When the famous leader of the African- born nationals of America, Malcolm X, who at one time led an extremist Black Nationalist Movement against the Whites, undertook Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) after embracing Islam, he saw people of all races, colors and nationalities speaking different languages and converging at one central place from the East and the West and from the North and the South. They all wore the same garment, the Ihram, all chanted Labbaik, in the same language; all mingled to perform circumambulation, and they all formed one compact congregation under the of one leader to offer worship. Malcolm X observed this and exclaimed that it was the only correct answer to the questions of race and color and that the measures hitherto adopted by his compatriots were wrong. Malcolm X was murdered, but his autobiography survives to bear witness to the profound impact Hajj had made on him.

How does Islam guarantee human rights?

Freedom of conscience is laid down by the Quran itself: 'There is no compulsion in religion'. (2:256) The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred whether a person is Muslim or not. Racism is incomprehensible to Muslims, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms: O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly, the most honored of you in God's sight is the greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All Aware (49-13)

Naroda Gaon and Naroda Patiya

The Most horrifying massacre of the Gujarat riots was the one at Naroda Gaon and Naroda Patiya localities in Ahmedabad. At the end of the day the total number of Muslims killed — in Naroda was well over at least 200. This figure has not been acknowledged by the state government; officially, 105 people were killed at Naroda Patiya and Naroda Gaon. In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No tiredness, exhaustion, worry, grief, distress or harm befalls a believer in this world, not even a thorn that pricks him, but Allaah expiates some of his sins thereby.”

SALEMA

he Meaning of Islam ISLAM is derived from the Arabic root "SALEMA": peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the will of God and obedience to His law. Followers of this faith are called Muslims. Estimates of the total number of Muslims range from 0.7 to 1.2 billion worldwide and 1.1 to 7 million in the U.S. About 21% of all people on Earth follow Islam. The religion is currently in a period of rapid growth. Christianity is currently the largest religion in the world. It is followed by about 33% of all people -- a percentage that has remained stable for decades. If current trends continue, Islam will become the most popular world religion sometime in the mid-21st century.

The final goal of humanity is God

According to Islam, the final goal of humanity is God. From Him we come, for Him we live and to Him we shall all return. In fact, the sole purpose of creation as described by the Quran is to worship God and to serve His cause, the cause of truth and justice, of love and mercy, of brotherhood and morality (Surah 51:56-58).

Sister Yvonne Ridley

A Reporter of British Daily News Paper, accepted Islam after she was held by Talibaan in Afghanistan, to whom America and west claimed to be most Brutal regime. She says, the good behavior of Talibaan Made me to think & study about Islam. Islam spread to all part of the world in order to transcend and elevate humanity above racism, ignorance, superstitions and injustice. Therefore, there was no need for forced conversion to the true religion of God. It is basically up to people to use the intellect with which God has bestowed them and make their choice.

Rights of Labours

It is related on the authority of Ibn Majah (RA) that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “The wages of labour must be paid to him before the sweat dries upon his body. “In another Hadith the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “It is the duty of employer to take only such work from the employees, which they can do easily. They should not be made to work so that their health is impaired.”

Muslims will not be successful in America

“Muslims will not be successful in America until there is a marriage between the indigenous and immigrant MUSLIM communities,” said Siraj Wahhaj, an African-American imam in New York with a rare national following among immigrant Muslims. “There has to be a marriage.” The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "If there comes to you a person whose Religion and character are pleasing to you, then marry him (i.e. give the girl in marriage to him). If you do not do this, there will be Fitnah (trial and discord) and greet fasad (corruption) upon the earth." (At-Tirmidhee) Allaah's Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "Indeed there is no excellence for an arab over a non-arab, nor for a non-arab over on arab, nor for a white person over a black one, nor for a black person over a white one, except through taqwaa (piety and obedience to Allaah). The people are from Aadam, and Aadam was from earth."2

The people are from Aadam, & Aadam was from earth

Allaah's Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "Indeed there is no excellence for an arab over a non-arab, nor for a non-arab over on arab, nor for a white person over a black one, nor for a black person over a white one, except through taqwaa (piety and obedience to Allaah). The people are from Aadam, and Aadam was from earth."(Ahmed) The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam also said: "Indeed my awliyaa (friends and allies) are not the tribe of so and so. Rather my friends and allies are the muttaqoon (those who possess taqwaa) - wherever they may be.(Bukhari, Muslim)

"Whoever has an atom of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise."

Ibn Mas'ud relates that the Prophet (saww) said, "Whoever has an atom of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise." Then one of his companions asked, "What do you say about someone who likes to dress in fine clothes?" and he answered, "Allah is beautiful and likes that which is beautiful. Arrogance is to deny reality and to consider others beneath oneself." Anas ibn Malik reports that the Prophet (saww) said, "In hell the proud will be locked in coffins of fire and kept there forever."

During Haj

World witnesses the wonderful spectacle of this international Exhibition of Islam in leveling all distinctions of race, color and rank. Not only the Europeans, the African, the Arabian, the Persian, the Indians, the Chinese all meet together in Makkah as members of one divine family, but they are clad in one dress every person in two simple pieces of white seamless cloth, one piece round the loin the other piece over the shoulders, bare head without pomp or ceremony, repeating "Here am I O God; at thy command; thou art one and alone; Here am I." Thus there remains nothing to differentiate the high from the low and every pilgrim carries home the impression of the international significance of Islam.

A beggar approaches cars in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) Said.. "Do not turn away a poor man...even if all you can give is half a date. If you love the poor and bring them near you...God will bring you near Him on the Day of Resurrection." Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1376.

A Woman Begs on Street in Green Street area of London, UK.

United Kingdom is one of few country where the people who cant afford themselves are given Social Security and Support allowance by the Government like it was given at the Time Of Holy Prophet. (SAWW) Holy Prophet Said.. a) Verily it is better for any of you to take your rope and bring a bundle of wood upon your back and sell it, in which case God guardeth your honor than to beg of people, whether they give or not; if they do not give, your reputation suffereth, and you return disappointed; and if they give, it is worse than that, for it layeth you under obligation. b)Every man who shall beg, in order to increase his property, God will diminish it. c)Verily God loveth a Muslim with a family, who is poor, and witholdeth himself from the unlawful and from begging.

Hard Work

Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) said.. A)Those who earn an honest living are the beloved of God. B)God is gracious to him that earneth his living by his own labor, and not by begging. C)Whoever desireth the world and its riches, in a lawful manner, in order to withold himself from begging, and for a livelihood for his family, and for being kind to his neighbor, will come to God with his face as bright as the full moon on the fourteenth night of the lunar month.

In Islam Men are responsible for the security and maintainance of women...

Allaah informs us that it is the duty of men to provide for their wives, and this is one of the reasons men were made superior to women, as Allaah Says (what means): “Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allaah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth…” [Quran 4: 34] There are many evidences from the Quran, the Sunnah and the consensus of the Muslim scholars proving that it is mandatory upon a man to provide for his wife. In the Quran, Allaah Says (what means): “…And upon the father is their [i.e. the mothers’] provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity…” [Quran 2: 233]

Fighting

Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of one's faith, or on the part of those whose basic rights have been violated. It lays down strict rules of engagement, which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees, and livestock. The reality is that injustice and oppression would be rampant in the world if good people were not prepared to fight for a righteous cause. Permission (to defend) has been granted to those who are being fought against; that they have been oppressed. Verily, God has the power to help them. Those who were unjustly expelled from their homes for no other reason than their saying: "God is our Lord." If God were not to repel some human beings through others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the name of God is mentioned, would have certainly been destroyed. God will definitely help those who help Him. Verily, God is Powerful, Mighty. (Quran 22:39-40)

Education and knowledge are mandatory upon men and women in Islam

Education and knowledge are mandatory upon men and women in Islam. "....Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition. (The Noble Quran, 39:9)" "...Those truly fear God, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for God is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving. (The Noble Quran, 35:28)" Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ashari: "The Prophet said, 'He who has a slave-girl and teaches her good manners and improves her education and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward; and any slave who observes Allah's right and his master's right will get a double reward.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Manumission of Slaves, Volume 3, Book 46, Number 723)"

Weapons of Mass Destruction

"Now is the time to exterminate the Yellow Peril for all time… Let the rats squeal." —Congressman Charles A. Plumley, August 1945 On Bombing of Japan. "Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind." (Qur’an, 5:32) Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts: "Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil." (Al-Tirmidhi)

Oltaire

Who at the beginning was one of Islam's most obdurate opponents and poured scorn on the Prophet, after his 40 years of study of religion, philosophy and history frankly said: "Muhammad's religion was unquestionably superior to that of Jesus. He never descended to the wild blasphemies of Christians, nor said that one God was three or three Gods were one. The single pillar of his faith is the One God. Islam owes its being to its founder's decrees and manliness; whereas Christians used the sword to force their religion on others. Oh Lord! if only all nations of Europe would make the Muslims their models." One of Voltaire's heroes was Martin Luther. Yet he wrote that "Luther was not worthy to unloose the latchets of Muhammad's shoes. Muhammad was a great man and a trainer of great men by his example of virtue and perfection. A wise lawgiver, a just ruler, an ascetic prophet, he raised the greatest revolution earth has seen."

Modesty

Modesty is a virtue which Islam demands of Muslim men and women. The most powerful verses commanding the believers to be modest occur in Surah al-Nur and begin with the words: Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well aware of what they do. (24:31) The rule of modesty is equally applicable to men and women. A brazen stare by a man at a woman or another man is a breach of correct behaviour. The rule is meant not only to guard women, but is also meant to guard the spiritual good of men.

Dating

DATING IS AN INDECENT AND HARAM ACT ISLAM has placed restrictions on men meeting strange women privately. Similarly no man other than her husband is allowed to touch any part of a woman's body. Holy Prophet said :- "From this day no man is allowed to call on a woman in the absence of her husband unless he is accompanied by one or two other men." (Tirmidhi) "The one who touches the hand of a woman without having a lawful relationship with her, will have an ember placed on his palm on the Day of Judgment." (Takmalah, Fath alQadir) "Do not call on women in the absence of their husbands, because Satan might be circulating in any of you like blood." (Tirmidhi) MAY ALLAH SAVE US FROM THIS ACT. AMIN

United States

Tools that the United States created to eavesdrop on Soviet leaders and to track KGB spies are now being used to monitor Americans. One system, known as Echelon, intercepts and analyzes telephone calls, faxes and e-mail sent to and from the United States. The other system, Tempest, can secretly read the displays on personal computers, cash registers and automatic teller machines, from as far as a half mile away. Prophet (SAW)said, "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the others' faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another; and O Allah's worshipers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you!"). (Bukhari)

Virtuous and Chaste Women

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was full of praise for virtuous and chaste women. He said: "The world and all things in the world are precious but the most precious thing in the world is a virtuous woman. He once told the future khalif, 'Umar: "Shall I not inform you about the best treasure a man can hoard? It is a virtuous wife who pleases him whenever he looks towards her, and who guards herself when he is absent from her."

The Question of HIJAB: Suppression or liberation?

"Why do Muslim women have to cover their heads?" This question is one which is asked by Muslim and non-Muslim alike. For many women it is the truest test of being a Muslim. The answer to the question is very simple - Muslim women observe HIJAB (covering the head and the body) because Allah has told them to do so. "O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the believing women to draw their outer garments around them (when they go out or are among men). That is better in order that they may be known (to be Muslims) and not annoyed..." (Qur'an 33:59) The word "hijab" comes from the Arabic word "hajaba" meaning to hide from view or conceal. In the present time, the context of hijab is the modest covering of a Muslim woman.

Iraqi Orphan Girl

An Iraqi Orphan Girl, Whose parents are killed in American Bombing. Orphans have a unique place in Islam and share an affinity with Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) who lost both his parents by the age of six. His orphaned childhood is the subject of some of the earliest verses of the Qur’an: "Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?" (Qur’an 93:6) "I, and the one who looks after an orphan, will be together like this in the next world", then he raised his index and middle fingers together. (Hadith Muslim) The important lesson Muslims have taken from this well-known hadith is that to choose the companionship of an orphan is to choose the companionship of the Prophet himself (Allah bless him and give him peace).

Given her in marriage

A man passed by Allahs Messenger (SAW) and Allah?s messenger (SAW) asked (his companions), what do you say about this (man)? They replied, if he asks for a lady's hand he ought to be given her in marriage; and if he intercedes (for someone) his intercession should be accepted; and if he speaks, he should be listened to. Allah?s messenger (SAW) kept silent and then a man from among the poor Muslims passed by , and Allah?s messenger (SAW) asked (then), what do you say about this man? They replied: If he asks for a lady?s hand in marriage, he does not deserve to be married; and if he intercedes ( for someone) his intercession should not be accepted; and if he speaks, he should not be listened to. Allah?s messenger (SAW) said, this poor man is better than so many of the first as filling earth. ( Al-Bukhari)

Muslim wedding

After a Muslim wedding ceremony a crying bride is led to her ceremonial car by her father who is also crying. "Ibn Abbas reported that a girl came to the Messenger of God, Muhammad, and she reported that her father had forced her to marry without her consent. The Messenger of God gave her the choice ... (between accepting the marriage or invalidating it)." (Ahmad, Hadeeth no. 2469). In another version, the girl said: "Actually I accept this marriage but I wanted to let women know that parents have no right to force a husband on them." [Ibn Majah]
